Vidya Balan was born on the new year day of 1978(jan 1) at Palakkad,kerala.Her father is the vice -president of the ETC channel.During her starting days she suffered from overweight.She graduated from University of Mumbai in the Sociology degree.
Movie career: Her debut film was chakram with the famous actor MohanLal in malayalam.She was initially rejected by director K.S.Ravi Kumar and later when she got hits in the starting movies he offered hear lead role in the movie 'dasavatarm' opositte to Kamal Hasan.She rejected the role and Asin replaced her.Her initial movie career was no t so good as she got dropped chances like film run and manasellam.But her star turned with her first hindi film 'Parineeta' which is a hit earning her the Filmfare Best female debut award.
